News: West End Star Sophie Opens Lilleshall Event

Shropshire's star of the West End hit 'The Sound of Music' was celebrity guest at an Open Day at Lilleshall Hall Gardens last week.
Sophie Bould, who plays eldest child Liesl in the musical, attended the event at the National Sports Centre which was held to raise money for the Severn Hospice. Sophie actually took the lead role for a time in the absence of BBC's 'How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria' winner Connie Fisher.
The Open Day was organised by Newport Rotary Club and people were invited to walk in the gardens and do a bit of 'tree spotting' at the same time to admire some of the spectacular specimens within Lilleshall's grounds.
The Severn Hospice charity has been set up to offer care to local patients with life limiting illnesses and is reported to cost £1.5 million each year to run. The garden walk, which is an annual event, was described by organisers as the 'best ever' and upwards of £700 was raised towards this very worthwhile cause.
